Welcome from
the chair
Dear Colleagues,

It is with great pleasure that we announce the 6th International Electronic Conference on Remote Sensing (ECRS 2026). The conference is organized by the MDPI open access journal Remote Sensing (ISSN: 2072-4292; Impact Factor: 4.3) and will be held online from 19 to 21 October 2026.

On behalf of the Conference Chair of ECRS 2026, we invite you to participate in ECRS 2026. We aim to bring together researchers, professionals, and students from around the globe to share and discuss new developments in remote sensing and its broad range of applications. The conference will feature sessions and presentations on the following key topics:

- AI in Remote Sensing;
- SAR Remote Sensing;
- Remote Sensing in Semi-Arid and Arid Areas;
- Remote Sensing in Tropical Areas;
- Remote Sensing in Urban Areas;
- Remote Sensing of the Environment;
- Remote Sensing for Cultural Heritage Protection;
- RSVQA—Remote Sensing Visual Question Answering.

ECRS 2026 will place a special emphasis on fostering participation from young scholars, supporting disadvantaged communities, and engaging researchers from developing countries. We are committed to fostering inclusive participation and ensuring that cutting-edge remote sensing knowledge and technologies are accessible to researchers worldwide, regardless of their geographic or economic circumstances.

As a fully online event, ECRS 2026 will present a unique opportunity for remote sensing scientists and practitioners worldwide to connect, exchange knowledge, and engage in lively discussions without the constraints of travel or geographic boundaries. All accepted abstracts will be available online on Sciforum.net during and after the conference.

We are pleased to announce that outstanding contributions will be recognized with awards for the best oral and poster presentations. We encourage all participants, especially early career researchers and those from underrepresented backgrounds, to actively engage and present their work.

Your participation is essential to the success of ECRS 2026, and we warmly invite you to join this vibrant scientific forum. We look forward to your contributions and to a dynamic and fruitful conference!

Kind regards,
Conference Chair
